Dan Doherty joins rhubarb in New York

We are delighted to announce we are partnering with award-winning chef and author Dan Doherty for our new exciting restaurant venture at New York’s Hudson Yards, opening March 2019.

The yet to be named restaurant, bar and terrace, will be on the fifth floor of the newly developed 30 Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s West Side. Dan will be working closely with us to curate every element of the restaurant within this unique development; which will also include restaurants from world renowned chefs Thomas Keller, José Andrés and Michael Lomonaco.

The restaurant at Hudson Yards will serve breakfast through to brunch, lunch and dinner. Dan’s menus have been inspired by his love of travel and are set to be a modern approach to ‘East meets West’. Menus will include robata grill dishes of Japanese pork belly; Gulf shrimp tostadas, and skewers of grilled octopus with smoked chilli & lime.

A selection of small plates for sharing will include, wagyu beef sliders with kimchi ketchup & gochujang; pressed & seared chicken wings with jalapeño butter, watermelon and feta.

The restaurant will be created by renowned interior designer Robert Angell. Light, bright and grand in form; with natural textured materials, teak timber screens and oriental features, seamlessly blending industrial west with authentic east.

In 2020 rhubarb will also open an events space at the top of 30 Hudson Yards, including an expansive observation deck - the highest manmade outdoor deck in the western hemisphere.

More about Dan Doherty

Dan Doherty has established himself as one of the most prominent chefs on London’s culinary scene. Having started his career by enrolling at The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, Dan went on to work alongside some of the top names in the business, including Herbert Berger at 1 Lombard Street. Dan continued on his path as Head Chef at The Ambassador & The Empress at Victoria Park before embracing a unique opportunity to open The Old Brewery in Greenwich in 2010. It opened with rave reviews, including Best New Restaurant (Time Out London).

Dan’s best known for his role as Executive Chef at Duck & Waffle though, London’s first 24 – 7 gourmet dining experience, which opened in 2012. During his six years at the helm of this renowned restaurant at the top of the Heron Tower in the heart of The City, his culinary achievements have been honoured with a number of prestigious awards & accolades including Tatler’s Restaurant Awards Rising Star Chef (2013) & the Evening Standard’s ‘1000 Most Influential People of 2014’.
