Heathrow & London City Airports

rhubarb relishes diversity and has evolved an area of expertise in travel catering. This multifaceted division comprises catered airport lounges such as American Airlines Business, first-class and arrivals lounges; restaurants and bars within the airport environment such as Pilots Bar & Kitchen at Heathrow Terminal 3, Terminal 5 and London City airport, as well as catering on upper-class airlines and luxury vessels.

Pilots Bar & Kitchen

Inspired by the golden era of the 1950s, our bold and bright Pilots Bar & Kitchen restaurants are located at Heathrow Terminal 3, Terminal 5, and London City Airport (managed by SSP)and are destinations in their own right. The Heathrow Terminal 5 restaurant opened in December 2014 and offers the 43,000 passengers passing through the terminal per day an accessible, international menu in classic, contemporary surroundings, they have a range of dining options to suit all-time considerations. Following the success of Pilots Bar & Kitchen at T5, rhubarb recently rebranded their existing Terminal 3 operation in 2017, expanding the Pilots brand to a new location.

rhubarb provides an all-day premium food and beverage concept with a 1950s theme to travellers in Heathrow with sleek interiors and a vintage palette with aeronautical design features displayed throughout the space. All three Pilots Bar & Kitchen outlets speedily serve a range of dishes including American pancakes, eggs benedict, freshly-made pastries and muffins, soups, sandwiches, salads and a dedicated burger menu.

Our London City Airport operation first opened in 2011 and is partnered with SSP; rhubarb manages all aspects of the menu design, sources suppliers who provide the finest ingredients, oversees the operations and service levels and advises on best practises and developments within the space.

Since April 2010 we have been providing the American Airlines London Heathrow first- and business-class lounges with an exclusive buffet-style menu. Over 600 American Airlines travellers per day enjoy the Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge, which offer complementary wi-fi, cyber café, business centre, showers, a clothes pressing service, reclining chairs and a separate children’s room to keep younger passengers entertained. rhubarb provides a fresh and dynamic complimentary lounge menu to travellers offering breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, with a buffet and à la carte service available. Using a range of British-sourced ingredients where possible, the menus also feature dishes available for those with dietary requirements. rhubarb takes full ownership of the menu development, food preparation, presentation, front of house and customer management and interaction for all hospitality requirements. The lounge reflects rhubarb and American Airlines shared understanding of excellence with a premium offer and impeccable service.
